The programme is run by a board of seven members, appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Iceland.

The University of Akureyri, northern Iceland, nominates one member:
Dr. Ögmundur Knútsson, assistant professor at the University of Akureyri e-mail
The minister of foreign affairs appoints one member without nomination:
Ms. Maria Erla Marelsdottir, Director of Directorate of International Development Cooperation of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs e-mail
Representative of the fishing industry:
Ms. Erla Kristinsdóttir, Sjavaridjan Rifi e-mail
The UNU nominates one member:
Professor Jakob Rhyner, UNU vice-rector in Europe
