Established in 1998, the UNU-FTP has hosted over 240 fellows from more than 40 countries to date.
The UNU-FTP was established through a tri-lateral agreement between the United Nations University, the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and the Marine Research Institute of Iceland.
The UNU-FTP operates in collaboration with many agencies in Iceland including academic institutions, private fishing companies, governmental institutions and research firms. The UNU-FTP prides itself on providing fellows with a holistic approach to fisheries.
