The United Nations University Fisheries Training Programme in Iceland

The UNU Fisheries Training Prgramme is a postgraduate training programme that offers training in various areas of the fisheries sector for practicing professionals in the less developed countries.

Fellows

United Nations University - Fisheries Training Programme is an institutional capacity building programme. Direct applications from individuals are not accepted. UNU-FTP works with institutions and organizations and provides an in-service training for fisheries professionals. The selection of participants is done through close cooperation with those establishments. In general UNU-FTP invites professionals to apply for the UNU Fellowship after an on-site interview and consultation with his/her fisheries establishment.

In order to qualify the candidates must:
  1. Be employed by a recognized fisheries establishment
  2. Hold at least the first university degree
  3. Have at least 2 years of experience related to the chosen line of specialization
  4. Have good command of English
  5. Have good support from his/her employer
  6. Be a committed fisheries professional
