On Friday, September 10, Gholam Reza Shaviklo successfully defended his PhD dissertation at the University of Iceland, faculty of food science and nutrition.
Dr. Shaviklo came to Iceland for the UNU-FTP in 2006. In 2007 he started his MSc studies at the University of Iceland on a scholarship from UNU-FTP. He finished his MSc degree in 2008 and continued his studies toward PhD degree at the School of Health Science at the University of Iceland with a support from both UNU-FTP and Matis - food research institute. His dissertation was on "Properties and Application of Fish Proteins in Value Added Convenience Foods" and his supervisor was Associate Professor Gudjon Thorkelsson. We wish Dr. Shaviklo all the best on his return to Iran.
