The application process for the UNU-FTP can be tedious and consists of the following:
UNU fellowship application form (to be sent to the applicant): this is an 8-page application form that the fellow need to fill out and have signed. It is very important that all boxes are filled out for a better evaluation of the candidate. The UNU-FTP office can provide guidelines on how to fill our the application. Together with the Fellowship Application form you are asked to provide the following:
Visa application. When the residence permit application has been approved by the Iceland immigration at notification is sent to the embassy indicated in the residence permit application. The candidate must then apply for a D-visa at the identified embassy (most Danish embassy are allowed to issue the D-visa) and should contact the embassy identified in the residence permit application for further instruction on how to apply for the D-visa (usually involves sending the passport to the embassy).
ALL cost regarding the visa application will be reimbursed upon arrival in Iceland and submission of a proper receipts.

- Evidence of academic training
- Two letters of recommendation
- A letter of support and commitment from your superior (director of institute/organization)
- A photocopy of your passport which is valid until three months after you finish the training (at least)
