There are six universities in Iceland and many of them cooperate directly with the UNU-FTP. The University of Iceland is the oldest and the largest of those universities and is a formal partner in
running the UNU-FTP. University of Akureyri is located in northern Iceland is also a formal partner of the UNU-FTP.
